Taking time off work for mental health reasons can often be a daunting task and often is a leading precedent for taking time off.  Due to the negative social stigma, work consequences, and lack of equitable healthcare access for mental health care are some of the leading factors for not taking the care we need, writes Barbara Ricci, a board member at the National Alliance on Mental Illness.  She goes on to give advice on how to overcome these challenges based off of her over 30 years of experience being approached by colleagues and clients seeking advice.
