Deaths from physical disorders have drastically declined in the last few decades, but what about suicides committed by those suffering from mental illnesses? Timothy Insel suggests we start thinking about mental disorders as “brain disorders” because new tools enable scientists to determine physical changes in the brain before symptoms occur.
