Body language is a natural form of nonverbal communication. When people feel powerful or happy, they expand their bodies. When they feel powerless or uncertain, they shrink their bodies. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy conducted some experiments in which subjects were asked to adopt a “high power pose” or a “low power pose” for two minutes prior to testing, and those who had adopted a “high power pose” had more successful outcomes.
